Quality: Figeac Aero Group's no. 1 requirement

Quality of production is the no. 1 management priority for Figeac Aero. The Group earmarks significant human and organisational resources to guarantee its production quality. All employees are involved in the quality process to ensure customer satisfaction.


The Group's quality activities focus on three major areas

The quality system

This is centralised at the Figeac site in France and deployed uniformly across all of the Group's subsidiaries. The ISO 9001 Version 2008 and EN9100 standards are at the heart of the system. Regular audits are carried out to identify and implement improvements to the quality process. All Group entities are involved in the evolution of operating methods to ensure greater effectiveness.

Product quality

Figeac Aero is customer-focused; it meets all quality control requirements for parts and sub-assembly manufacture, via disciplined and rigorous monitoring of each stage in the production process.

Significant resources are deployed, ranging from visual inspections to dimensional and three-dimensional inspection of parts. New methodologies resulting from technological advances are also implemented, such as contactless, camera, augmented reality and other inspection techniques. Quality improvement tools are deployed for products to ensure relevance, responsiveness and improved performance.

Special processes

Some of the steps in the manufacturing process require Figeac Aero to be certified by its customers in order to implement special processes inherent to their activities.

Compliance with these industrial operations ensures product reliability over time. Figeac Aero Group deploys significant resources to assist its customers with the Nadcap accreditation process, among others.

Figeac Aero is also committed to a process of continuous quality improvement, notably via an APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) process to anticipate and plan quality actions during industrialisation phases and to improve life-cycle performance.

Figeac Aero trains its personnel and manages their skills to ensure its quality management system is dynamic and efficient. Figeac Aero's work in this area of expertise has been recognized by the SQUIP award (Supply Chain & Quality Improvement Program), which rewards the best-performing partners of Airbus Group in this area.
